PEM® self-clinching studs are installed by inserting them into appropriately sized holes in the sheet metal and tightening them into place with any standard press. The tightening process places the stud head into the sheet metal. The metal displaced by the head is placed evenly and evenly around the ribs and into the annular groove, creating a countersunk head assembly that securely locks the stud into the sheet metal with high torque and thrust resistance. TFH (non-countersunk) studs are designed for thin sheets. They can also be used in thicker sheets where countersunk head studs are not required. TFH studs are installed in the sheet metal in the same way as countersunk head studs, but different punches and anvils are required. Once installed, the TFH stud will lock securely into the thin sheet metal with sufficient torque and thrust resistance. The stud head will not be flush but will protrude above the sheet metal surface. Used for thin sheets. Permanent teeth or alignment shafts for thin materials. Used for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
