Material
Stainless steel, material no. 1.4307 / UNS S30403

Size Range
5.0-50.0 mm

Application Area
The Spiral-welded MCR is suitable for air bag systems as well as cooling and heating water circuits.

Material Sizes
Collapsible ring clamps can be supplied with a variety of diameter and material options from Spiral welded. The tape sizes should be selected by considering the radial force, hose quality and mechanical loads on the MCR to ensure the required sealing and/or insulation properties under the relevant ambient conditions.

Diameter Reduction
The maximum possible diameter reduction depends on the nominal diameter of the MCR. The nominal diameter of the mcr should be kept as short as possible according to the diameter of the parts being clamped to shorten contraction times, facilitate positioning, and reduce material load on the MCR. Oetiker will be happy to help you make the right choice for certain applications. Any changes in material structure and tape sizes must be made during assembly. Please note that the shorter the MCR diameter, the more challenging these changes will be. This is because the amount of material is associated with diameter. The degree of compression required or the surface pressure applied to the part clamped by an MCR depends on the radial force, which therefore determines the grip and sealing properties. Each surface pressure must be determined according to the application in question. If Oetiker narrowing instruments developed for this purpose are used, approximately 360° of surface pressure is provided on the clamped parts without any overlap arising from the internal surfaces of the MCR.

Tolerance Balancing
The tolerance balancing during the installation of Oetiker collapsible ring clamps is entirely dependent on the order of function of the mounting tool. Essentially, tolerance balancing is not possible in the diameter-priority Assembly of Oetiker collapsible ring clamps because the MCR can only be tightened up to the specified diameter. This means that the tolerances of the components are fully effective on the degree of compression or the surface pressure applied to the clamped part. In this type of Assembly, every other
the thing is associated with obtaining a defined diameter. Therefore, the tolerance balancer Assembly of an MCR can only be achieved by force-priority adjustment. Or in other words, the basic principle here is not to apply pressure up to a certain diameter, but to obtain the experimentally determined tightening force and The Associated surface pressure. The innovative tightening concept of”Oetiker ELS 01 " provides high process reliability combined with a force-priority approach and self-proven installation of Oetiker collapsible ring clamps. There are also indicators that control the tightening force.
